Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all angling coaching sessions provided by Cast and Connect. When you book a session with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Booking and Payment

  • All sessions must be booked in advance by direct arrangement.
  • Payment must be made in full at the time of booking, unless otherwise agreed.
  • We accept payment by bank transfer.
  • A booking confirmation will be sent once payment has been received.

2. Cancellations and Refunds Cancellation by Cast and Connect

We may cancel or reschedule a session due to extreme weather, safety concerns, or staff illness.

If a session is cancelled by us, you will be offered:

  • A full refund,
  • A credit towards a future session, or
  • An alternative date.

Cancellation by the Participant or Parent/Guardian:

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session will receive a full refund or session credit.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.
  • No-shows (failure to attend without notice) will not be refunded or rescheduled.

3. Safeguarding and Child Welfare

  • Cast and Connect is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children, young people and adults.
  • All coaching sessions are delivered by DBS-checked, qualified staff in line with the Angling Trust's Safeguarding Children and Young People in Angling Policy.
  • A designated Safeguarding Lead is appointed and contactable for any concerns. If you have any concerns, contact the Angling Trust’s Designated Safeguarding Officer in line with reporting procedures https://anglingtrust.net/safeguarding/. email: Safeguarding@anglingtrust.net.
  • Participants or parents/guardians must provide accurate emergency contact and medical information before the session.
  • Children will never be left alone with a coach without appropriate supervision protocols in place.

4. Emergency Procedures

  • A qualified first-aider will be present at all sessions.
  • A first-aid kit and mobile phone are always on hand.
  • In the event of a medical emergency:

  • Emergency services will be called if necessary.
  • First aid will be administered as required.
  • The emergency contact will be contacted.
  • All incidents and accidents will be recorded and reported in line with our procedures.

5. Participant Expectations

  • Participants should arrive on time and appropriately dressed for outdoor activity (including waterproofs and sun protection as required).
  • Participants must follow all safety guidance, equipment usage instructions and behave respectfully.
  • Disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the session without a refund.
  • Where a session is delivered for a child, a parent or guardian must remain on site or be contactable at all times, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.

6. Health and Medical Information

  • It is the responsibility of the participant or parent/guardian to inform us of any relevant medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary requirements, behavioural or developmental conditions or needs, physical, sensory, or other impairments, conditions, or access needs before the session. This information allows us to provide a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

7. Liability

  • While all reasonable care is taken, angling is an outdoor activity and inherently carries a level of risk. Cast and Connect, its staff, and volunteers cannot accept responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage unless it is proven to result directly from negligence on our part. All participants are required to follow all safety guidance and adhere to all instructions provided regarding the correct and safe use of equipment at all times.
  • Cast and Connect accepts no liability for any loss, damage, breakage or injury resulting from the use of any equipment sold or loaned. All equipment, whether new or second-hand, is inspected to the best of our ability at the point of supply; however, responsibility for its safe use and ongoing condition passes to the recipient once the equipment has been issued.
  • If equipment sold or loaned fails due to a fault, Cast and Connect will do everything reasonably possible to arrange repair or provide a like-for-like replacement wherever feasible.

8. Photography and Media

  • Photos or videos may be taken for use on our website, social media, or promotional materials.
  • Parent/guardian or participant consent will be sought in advance. You may opt out at any time.
